He captured the hearts of audiences with hits such as "Die Chose geht die Chose nicht", "Das ist die Liebe", "Die Mädis, die Mädis" and "Machen wir's den Schwalben nach" and whisked them away to the glamorous world of the theatre with the story of the dazzling chansonnière Sylva Varescu.
