Tacheles Alarm

Who owns the hummus? Are Jews allowed to wear tattoos? And what am I actually allowed to say about the Middle East conflict?

The "Tacheles-Alarm" is a tool consisting of several modules that is used as part of TACHELES 2026, the Year of Jewish Culture in Saxony, whenever such complex and controversial topics and issues in the Jewish context require discussion and clarification.

The "Tacheles Alarm" serves to openly name conflicts, scrutinise prejudices and dispel misunderstandings: objectively, factually, argumentatively. It deals with issues such as cultural appropriation, anti-Semitism and security and offers actors support in the realisation of their projects. "Tacheles-Alarm" is a collection of questions and answers, assistance and handouts, suggestions, tips and discussions.
The title of the Tacheles theme year offers plenty of scope for this. Free expression of opinion, open discussions and discourse, a dialogue at eye level - this is what the word "Tacheles", which comes from Yiddish, stands for. In the programme of the theme year, it also means the inclusion of Jewish voices and perspectives. "Let's talk tacheles!" invites people to put things on the table, ask uncomfortable questions and engage in intensive debate and discussion.
