“What a blue!”
The cultural traces of the two Wallerstein families in Dresden
Albertinum
Tzschirnerplatz 2
01067 Dresden
Join us on a special journey to two Jewish families who have left their mark on Dresden's cultural life: the family of the dancer Gitta Wallerstein-Perl and the family of the lottery collector Samuel Gabriel Wallerstein.
We begin the afternoon in the Albertinum with a viewing of the portrait “Gitta Wallerstein” by Oskar Kokoschka. Kokoschka painted the then 10-year-old Gitta Wallerstein in his studio at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts in 1921. We continue our journey in this studio at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts on Brühlsche Terrasse. This is where Professor Christian Macketanz's master class is working today, and we are invited to join them afterwards for a discussion over finger food and wine.
Organized in cooperation with the Albertinum, Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden and Christian Macketanz
Accessibility at the event
