German-Czech Future Fund
Partnership between the German-Czech Future Fund and
"Tacheles. Year of Jewish Culture in Saxony 2026"
The Czech-German Future Fund has chosen "How do we say never again today?" as the theme for 2025 - a call to keep alive the memory of the horrors of National Socialism, the Holocaust and the war and to face up to current challenges such as right-wing extremism, populism, anti-Semitism and social polarisation.
In this context, the German-Czech Future Fund and "Tacheles. Year of Jewish Culture in Saxony 2026" are pleased to announce their partnership. Our aim is to support German-Czech projects that make Jewish history and culture and their contribution to the past and present of both countries visible. At the same time, however, we also want to "talk straight" about irretrievable losses, gaps in the culture of remembrance and current threats - for a society in which memory remains alive and the shared responsibility for the values of "never again" also applies in the future.
Through a variety of projects, exhibitions, events and encounters, Jewish life is to be strengthened as an integral and natural part of Saxon and Czech society and the cultural landscape as well as local and regional history and the networking of local actors is to be promoted.
All cultural sectors from theatre to visual and performing arts to museums as well as scientific and educational institutions, clubs, associations, schools, churches and religious communities can contribute. The joint initiative offers space for a variety of formats: from school and extracurricular educational projects to artistic debates and discussion events organised by civil society and academic stakeholders.
As part of this thematic focus, we would like to encourage the use of "Tacheles" as a platform for German-Czech exchange and the development of joint cross-border projects.
Applications to the German-Czech Future Fund can be submitted as part of the annual theme by 30 September 2025 and 31 December 2025.
All projects supported by the Future Fund will be included in the "Tacheles" programme and the fund will be presented in public communication as a partner of the "Year of Jewish Culture in Saxony 2026".
