Saxon State Centre for Political Education
The topics covered by the State Centre for Political Education are as diverse as Germany's past and present. From the Wettin people to National Socialism and the peaceful revolution to current social debates: with its numerous formats, both online and on-site, the State Centre for Political Education offers the Saxon public a broad platform for engaging in dialogue with those responsible and experts. It provides knowledge and in this way promotes political participation, judgement and the ability to act. The aim is to support and strengthen a politically interested, well-informed, opinionated, open-minded and committed civil society in the Free State.
Profile
The Saxon State Centre for Political Education was established by the Free State of Saxony in 1991 as a non-incorporated institution under public law.
The legal basis for its activities is a statutory educational mandate in which it was entrusted with the promotion of political education measures on a non-partisan basis. Its mandate is defined in more detail in an administrative regulation. According to these regulations, we must in particular work towards coordination and cooperation with other public and independent providers of political education, organise public political education events, support political education work through publications, books and films and collect experience and scientific findings and make these available for political education.
The SLpB's personnel management body is the Saxon State Ministry of Culture.
The Saxon State Centre for Political Education wants to encourage and support people in Saxony to get involved. We offer information and tools to all Saxon citizens. A board of trustees ensures that our work is non-partisan.
