Forum Konrad-Wachsmann-Haus Niesky
Specialist Museum for Historic Timber Construction
The Konrad Wachsmann House in the small East Saxon town of Niesky is a remarkable example of early industrial timber construction and a unique architectural monument of modernism. Designed in 1927 by the internationally renowned pioneer of industrial building, Konrad Wachsmann (1901-1980), it was built by Christoph & Unmack AG as a director's villa. Since 2014, the Konrad Wachsmann House has served as a museum and conference center, hosting exhibitions, research, teaching, and art. Architectural history and current topics in sustainable building converge there, with a focus on the life and work of the Jewish architect Konrad Wachsmann.
