Community Rooms, Prayer Room and Meeting Room
From late 1948 until July 1953, the Jewish community’s provisional prayer hall and meeting room were located in the former administrative building of the Alte Aktienspinnerei.
Maintaining a regular religious life within a schoolroom was not feasible in the long term. Consequently, in 1947, the city made a space available to the community within the building complex of the former "Janiks Wohnungs- und Gaststättengesellschaft" in the city center.
Renovation work was completed in the spring of 1949. Religious services, meetings, and social gatherings could once again be held. The extensive administrative duties—which Fechenbach had previously handled single-handedly—were delegated to a secretary in 1951. However, the activities of the community board soon became limited to the maintenance of the Jewish cemetery.
