A young man hears screams coming from a burning house - and acts. Without hesitation, he saves a life. For Recha, the rescued woman, he is an angel, because in a world full of hostility, humanity seems to be a miracle.

Three religions, world views and claims to power collide in Jerusalem. As the war rages, Recha and the soldier Kurt begin to doubt: is there even a right side? And what does Nathan's old story of the ring - which tells of tolerance and humanity - mean?

Ulrich Hub's modern version of Lessing's classic ‘Nathan's Children’ places the young generation at the centre. With great sensitivity, the play shows how understanding and compassion can transcend borders - more relevant than ever in a time when peace cannot be taken for granted.
