Yiddish and East European Choir
Singing with Polina Shepherd!
Haus der Brücke
Rähnitzgasse 8
01097 Dresden
A new stop in Yiddishland! A weekend course focusing on Yiddish and Eastern European singing with Polina Shepherd – broaden your musical horizons!
With the Yiddish Choir, you’ll not only sing in Yiddish, but also explore the ‘macaronic’ tradition – the artful interweaving of different languages. The workshop covers specific musical elements such as ornamentation, phrasing and modes. Join us in celebrating the unifying power of Eastern European music and the deep connections between cultures.
All this takes place as part of the Jewish Culture Days in Dresden, where you can also look forward to inspiring concerts and cultural events. We’ve opted for a weekend format so that working people can take part too. We’re happy to help you find affordable accommodation and so on.
