Premiere workshop - Around the premiere of "Simsalabim - the magical life of Dr Schreiber

A world premiere: this is anything but everyday theatre. Years pass between the initial idea and the premiere, countless hours are spent at the desk and piano, and every musical and textual sketch is discussed. And not least because the creators – still rather rare in musical theatre – are fortunately very much alive.

A world premiere can also be magical for an audience: be there when the curtain rises for the first time on the new musical Simsalabim – Das magische Leben des Dr. Schreiber (Simsalabim – The Magical Life of Dr. Schreiber)! Away from the stage, you will have the unique opportunity to explore the building blocks of a play's development: what does an era sound like, how does a historical figure speak – what does she sing? And what does it take to stage a spectacular magic show? These are the questions posed by composer Elena Kats-Chernin, playwright Dirk Laucke, lyricist Martin G. Berger and the production's directing team.
