The Faculty of Philosophy at TU Dresden offers students of all teacher training programmes at TU Dresden, regardless of the type of school chosen, the accompanying course "Jewish Everyday Life in Germany. Between civil rights, anti-Semitism and #neveragain" in order to recognise anti-Semitism in schools at an early stage and prevent it.

Contents

In addition to raising awareness of the manifestations of modern anti-Semitism and teaching pedagogical approaches for anti-Semitism-free educational processes, the accompanying study programme also focuses on familiarising students with aspects of Jewish life in Germany through direct exchange with Jewish communities and institutions.

At the end of the accompanying study programme, participants will be able to impart knowledge about the origins, manifestations and consequences of anti-Semitism and to sustainably orientate school education processes against anti-Semitism. After successfully completing the accompanying study programme, participants will receive a certificate proving their qualification for preventive work against anti-Semitism in schools.

  • Duration: 3 semesters (always starts in the summer semester)

  • Scope: 15 LP  (10 LPs of which can be regularly credited in the teacher training programmes (usually in the supplementary studies)
